Case Studies
1-Case Study – Apartment
Bart had been in the same apartment for almost 20 years. Over time a lot of heavy furniture and artwork had been accumulated. He was unhappy with where he was in life, looking for a solid relationship and improved home business and health. He also no longer felt the community was home for him.
In educating him about using the bagua to pinpoint the areas of highest focus, he began to understand how the confined layout, heaviness of the furniture, choice of colors and artwork, and items in the joint living room/dining room created a solo, unwelcoming feeling. These rooms were the first seen upon entering the apartment and covered five key gua areas. His bedroom was dark, full of heavy metal and technology and the picture over the bed was of a lonely looking house. His home office had become full of unneeded furniture, boxes and objects that had no other place for storage.
I pointed out to him that the home office represented “relationships” energy, while the living room held “career” and “health” energy, and the bedroom was in the “helpful people” gua energy. By focusing on adjustments in these 3 areas, he could impact all of his identified concerns
Bart reports - Sara was perceptive in understanding my goals for a more calming and welcoming space. I was skeptical at first about the concepts of how the layout and clutter in my apartment were impacting my desires to improve my relationships and home business. Sara was patient in explaining how changing the colors and placement of furniture could change the energy around my life, and she helped me identify small changes that have made an impact on my goals. It’s a process, but Sara helped me with beginning changes and provided me with a good blueprint to follow. Her recommendations really changed the way I feel when I walk in and helped motivate me.

2. Case Study – Struggling restaurant
Achara and her business partners invited me to her restaurant for a feng shui and energy cleansing session. Her restaurant is in a less-trafficked area of town and business has still not recovered from Covid times. I knew they had implemented recommendations from a traditional compass-based feng shui master and explained to them how the BTB approach differed yet would complement the adjustments already made.
The entrance layout had dual doors which created confusion for those entering and once in the restaurant a customer first saw a relatively empty room which created confusion that the main dining area was around a corner. My focus was on revving up the energy at the entrance, improving customer directional flow and better utilizing the visual space to create a busy, vibrant vibe customers would want to return to.
We closed the final session with a negative energy clearing to clear out any residual energy from the previous restaurant that rented the space. That was followed by a space blessing which included staff contributing their intentional energy to the future of the business.
Achara reports - Sara was very kind and professional, and she explained each step clearly during the process. After the session, I noticed gradual positive changes in the atmosphere and business. It wasn’t a dramatic transformation, but things seemed to improve little by little. I appreciate Sara’s sincerity and the care she puts into her work — it was a thoughtful and unique experience.

3. Case Study – a bedroom in a co-rented house out of state
Benjamin had recently moved with friends to a rented single-family house. He had switched jobs due to health and stress reasons and knew he needed a clean slate. He’d heard a little bit about feng shui and decided to give it a try. This was a remote consultation fully performed via Zoom.
There were a few obvious layout issues with the shared space as a whole but a large extra room to be utilized as computer/office space for everyone afforded the chance to choose first pick for desk placement and the empty bedroom gave him a chance to make good layout and decorating choices right from the start.
Although Benjamin had less control over the shared space, I explained how energy was flowing in and directly out the back door due to the main floor layout. I helped him understand the concept of “command position” for the most auspicious placement of his desk to ensure success in his new job. In his bedroom my recommendations focused on the critical areas for improving his sleep and his reputation and career.
Benjamin reports - I wasn’t sure that it was possible to experience such a positive feng shui consultation remotely, but today’s technology makes it all possible. Moving into a new home I share with friends was part of a fresh start in my career and healthy lifestyle and I wanted to embrace the impactful concepts of energy flow. Sara engaged me in the entire process including a restorative energy clearing and her thoughtful suggestions took my shallow wallet into account. I have incorporated some of her recommendations and already noticed improvements in my sleep and overall mood and increasingly positive changes to my stressful work environment.
